Course Synopsis – Anaesthesia: Back to Basics

Troubleshooting during anaesthesia can seem complicated but understanding what our machines are telling us, what we are measuring, and the impact of anaesthesia on our patient’s anatomy and physiology can help us to feel confident in correcting and understanding those unusual readings.

This one day course will help you understand the how, what, and why of anaesthesia monitoring. Using up to date research, you will be provided with the knowledge to confidently troubleshoot abnormal readings under anaesthesia. The course will guide you through the use and application of monitoring equipment, including non-invasive and invasive blood pressure monitoring, capnography, and electrocardiography (ECG), as well as discussing the effects of common anaesthetic drugs on patients and how to approach common problems identified during the peri-anaesthetic period.
